The following are the general rules for our VirtualTourney.com. If you have any questions feel free to contact us.
VirtualTourney.com offers 100% free online video game tournaments, with real-time brackets, stat tracking, and user profiles. Our tournaments start automatically once they fill up. No needless waiting for start dates. With one user name VT will track your stats for all your video games on your PS3, Xbox 360, Wii, PS2 and PC.
VT will track each user's stats and compile a User Profile for each member. This allows you to get to know the next player you'll be matched up against.
All the games require the users to connect via their game consoles, independently from VT.
Since there are many different games featured at VT, it is difficult to establish rules for each game's gameplay or settings. We have adopted a rule that will eliminate any difficulties for opponents to agree on the settings. The HIGHEST RATED player for each match gets to determine all the settings and gameplay features for that match. Consider this homecourt advantage.
From the Enter Tourney section choose your Game to enter the specific tourney.
After the bracket for a tournament fills, a VTMail will be sent to each player, identifying their first opponent. The player and their opponent will have a defined period of time to contact their opponent, play their game, and submit the score to VirtualTourney.com. If this time limit is not followed disqualification will occur.
After a tournament has been filled, you can also view the brackets of the tourney at any time to see who you're going to play down the road.
A feedback section will be available for all players. If someone is being a jerk, rate them as one. Also, if someone is a great opponent, let people know.
At a minimum, the winner must submit the game scores to VirtualTourney.com before the match expires.
The loser has the right to contest the winner's submission. If there is a contested listing, VirtualTourney.com will broker a negotiation between the 2 players. The 2 players will have 4 hours to resolve the discrepancy. If a resolution is not made, both players will forfeit from the tourney.
If the scores are not submitted before the match expires, then both players will forfeit.
If the loser does not submit the score to VirtualTourney.com, the winner's scores will be accepted and he/she will move on to the next round.
What if your opponent doesn't show or won't respond to your VTMails to even play the game? Unfortunately this may happen. In this case, if you do not submit a score you will also be disqualified from the tournament.
But that's not fair to you since you made the attempts. Here's what we recommend. If your opponent does not meet to play you, simply submit a score so that you move on in the tournament.
Remember, the submit score feature on VirtualTourney.com is set up so that if only one person submits the score, that person's score will dictate the outcome of the match. So simply submit a score saying that you won.
What score do you give yourself? To be fair to all users, we recommend that you use your Win Margin score found in your Scorecard.
If your opponent then for some reason submits a score that does not match yours, you have a problem. But his is an ideal situation to use the User Feedback section and give negative feedback.
If a player forfeits, the next opponent in the bracket will get a bye.
If your game connection is interrupted, or for any reason you cannot finish that game, you will have to setup and play a new game within the allotted time or submit the score as it stood at the time of interruption. If a game is not finished for any reason, the leader at that time has the right to claim the win.
VirtualTourney.com will automatically update the brackets and the tournament will continue.
